Porsche . How to Replace a Turn Signal Switch on a 2000 Buick Century LTDThe 2000 Buick Century turn signal switch is located in the steering column. A turn signal lever protrudes from the side of the column, to allow you control of the turn signal system. By pushing the lever up or down, you can activate the left or right turn signal. Since a fully functioning turn signal is a necessity for safe and legal driving, if the switch malfunctions, you should replace it, as soon as possible. Anyone with basic auto-repair experience can replace a 2000 Buick Century turn signal switch in approximately 20 minutes. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Trim tool Phillips screwdriver Step by Step : 1 Pry the semi-circular trim cover off the top of the Century steering column, with your trim tool, to expose the turn signal switch. 2 Unplug the steering column wiring harness from the turn signal switch. Remove the retaining screw from the Century turn signal switch, with your Phillips screwdriver. 3 Replace the old turn signal switch with the new one, by hand. Thread the retaining screw into the new switch, and tighten it, with the Phillips screwdriver. 4 Plug the steering column wiring harness into the new turn signal switch, by hand. Pop the semi-circular trim cover back onto the Century steering column, by hand.

The battery sends a signal through the ignition switch to the turn signal relay, or flasher, which interrupts the signal in cadence before sending the signal on to the light. The turn signal relay is located in a standard location, to the left of the steering column beneath the lower dash panel. Replacing the flasher requires removing the lower dash panel and unplugging the relay by hand. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Replacement relay Screwdriver Step by Step : 1 Remove the lower dash panel cover. You will have to remove a few screws to gain access to it. The screws are along the lower edge of the panel. 2 Locate the relay: a small, black box connected to the wiring harness to the left of the steering column.
